I am a Research Scientist at Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in Australia. Before this, I was a Jr. Data Scientist at Trusting Social, a Fintech company in Vietnam, to leverage AI and Machine Learning technologies to deliver financial access to bank customers. I was a Research Fellow at Living Analytics Research Centre (LARC). I received my Ph.D. degree from the School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University (SMU), where I was very fortunate to work under the supervision of Professor David Lo. Before that, I completed B.Eng. and M.S. in Computer Science from Ho Chi Minh University of Technology - Vietnam (2009) and Konkuk University - South Korea (2011), respectively. From 2012 to 2016, I worked as a research engineer at Ghent University (2012-2015) and Living Analytics Research Centre, SMU (2015-2016).
My research expertise lies in the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Software Engineering (SE). Specifically, I am interested in inventing and developing AI solutions to solve challenging software system problems, such as, software repository mining, large-scale code search, and bug detection, etc., hence improving software quality, accelerating productivity, and reducing the software maintenance cost.
